House OKs $59 billion for Afghan war
WASHINGTON — Months behind schedule and stripped of money for domestic stimulus programs, the U.S. House sent legislation to fund the troop surge in Afghanistan to President Barack Obama on Tuesday after disgruntled Democrats failed to block it.
